Artist's Comments
Mapplethorpe, Robert 1946–1989
American artist whose single-image black-and-white photographs often depict flowers, the human nude, and male homoeroticism. More about Mapplethorpe
After G.P. Lynes, Mapplethorpe is my favorite male nude photographer.
My favorite nude work of his is Man in polyester suit 1980.
An idea to try to copy his wors followed me for some time. In 2005 I had an agenda with his flower works. (In 2006 I've got a National Geographic Wildlife agenda)
i laughed after i read a part about strong colors. i understand you.
most ppl would've had a headache in my room - it has intense vermilion (color between red and orange) walls. and it's even better/worse when there's a sunlight.

Oh hehe, and it's Mapplethorpe, not Mapplethrope. Thanks for giving us a bit of information on him, I never knew anything about him besides his name.
